Family Fun at RSPB Farnham Heath
December 1st marks a fun day at RSPB Farnham Heath when the gates will open to all who want to abandon Christmas shopping for a day and join in the the annual “ Pull a Pine” event from 10am till 3pm.
It’s a chance to do something a little bit different with your family and friends. Everyone who comes will be helping the RSPB to rid the heath of unwanted pine scrub and while getting a little (gentle!) exercise in the fresh air. As a bonus, you can cut as many Christmas trees as you like to take home for the festive season.
Last year, over 500 people had a great time taking part, and this year it will be even bigger and better. There will be hot drinks, cake, children’s activities, and the RSPB’s NE Hampshire Local Group will be there with a range of goods including Christmas cards. There will also be stands from other partner conservation organisations.
All tools will be provided along with the essential health and safety information. So, wrap up warm (and dry if it’s raining), grab some gardening gloves if you’ve got them, put on your stout shoes, and join the fun! Event parking and toilets kindly provided at the neighbouring Rural Life Centre, Reeds Road, Tilford, GU10 2DL.
Dog owners are requested to keep their dogs on leads while on the heath.
Please note there will be a charge for this event, payable on arrival. For non RSPB members this will be £10 per car and £5 per car for RSPB members.
Unfortunately the site for this activity is not suitable for wheel chairs or mobility scooters.
